Lawrence Barns

President and CEO of Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario

Lawrence is the President and CEO of Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario (LDAO), leading the strategic direction of the charity. As importantly, he is a parent of two sons with Learning Disabilities and found advocacy in the school system easy but his ability to ask the right questions not so much. A fluke conversation led him to find a path that changed the dynamic of his family. His mission now is to make sure others don’t have to hope for a fluke but instead receive the support that will lead to success. After over twenty years as a global business executive, sought after public speaker, and TV host, his time is now dedicated to changing the perception of Learning Disabilities and the individuals that it impacts. Lawrence is the lead advocate to the Ontario government on matters relating to education, employment, and human rights for LDAO as well as hosting Talk LD a podcast of LD@school (www.ldatschool.ca) and LD@home (www.LDathome.ca).

Matt McCorkle

Co-founder, Clear Choice Test Prep

ACT & SAT Curriculum Developer and Entrepreneur with a Purpose – committed to lifelong education, continual self-improvement, and promoting social justice. To that end, I build tools that empower tutors, teachers, and test prep professionals to prepare high school students for college admissions. On a personal note: My daughter is the cutest thing in this universe. I enjoy hiking and camping, but I don’t sleep under the stars as often as I’d like. I “read” more audio books than books because I can’t sit still, and I find it supremely rewarding to help small business owners.
