Meet the Team of Tutor Doctor Harrogate
Hi, my name is Oliver.
I am the Education Consultant for Tutor Doctor Harrogate. I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Prior to Tutor Doctor I had a career in business, as a Sales and Commercial Director for several large companies. The thing I enjoyed most about my work was coaching, mentoring, and helping to support others to learn, develop and grow.
This passion for helping others to develop and reach their full potential is what inspired me to start Tutor Doctor Harrogate. I love working with people in the local community to help them find tutors they can trust, who can help build confidence, fill in knowledge gaps and support students to reach their goals…whatever they may be. Here at Tutor Doctor we pride ourselves on understanding what the student needs and matching them with a tutor we know and trust to provide them with the best possible support.
Hello! My name is Etleva.
I’m currently in my second year of my Integrated Masters of Chemistry. I mainly tutor STEM subjects such as Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology. However, I had tutored other subjects such as English. Before attending university, I travelled around Europe teaching English as a second language and as a result obtained a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate. Helping students achieve their true potential and educational ambitions is something I find immensely rewarding. There is no better feeling than when one of your students gets into their dream university or attains their dream grades!
I am currently studying at the University of York, working on my PhD in English. I’ve completed an MA in English Literary Studies at the same University and also hold a BA in English and American Studies (with History as a minor subject) from the University of Mannheim, Germany. I enjoy teaching and have experience as a private tutor, as well as leading academic skill sessions at University, and will be teaching courses for the Centre of Lifelong Learning in 2021. My aim for students is to create a comfortable, non-judgemental space where they can build their confidence and skills in a way that suits them. I treasure the cards and letters I’ve received from previous students who achieved their goals, and I am honoured and proud to have been a part of their journey. I primarily teach English Literature/Language, but I am also a German native speaker and I am always happy to help students improve their language skills. When I am not working or studying, I love playing a full-contact, mixed gender sport, walks with my dog Milo (not pictured) or (currently virtual) game nights with friends.
Hello! My name is Saskia and I'm a medical student at Leeds University and a Biomedical Sciences graduate from Newcastle. I specialise in teaching the sciences, as it's a passion of mine, especially Biology but am also able to teach English, Maths, History up to GCSEs and French at A level as I have studied French at school and was an Aupair in Toulouse for 9 months where I also gained experience teaching. Outside of learning and teaching I enjoy running, baking and travelling all over the world.
Hello, my name is Kendra. I am a fully qualified primary school teacher who holds a PGCE in Primary Education as well as a BA Hons in English Literature. I have eight years of primary education experience before I became a tutor with Tutor Doctor, which I absolutely love. I have always loved helping children to learn and am driven by a passion to enable children to develop through their unique learning style and watching their confidence grow. I truly believe learning should be personal, productive and FUN! I have experience in teaching all subjects across the curriculum and particularly enjoy teaching Maths and English. Additionally, I have experience in teaching students with educational needs ranging from Dyslexia and Autism up to Gifted and Talented Children.
