Personalised, one-to-one tutoring in Writtle

It starts with a free, no-obligation consultation with our local Tutor Doctor team. We listen to your child’s goals, current challenges, preferred learning style and timetable. We then hand-pick a tutor based on subject expertise and personality fit, not just availability. Once you are happy with the match, tuition begins one-to-one at home in Writtle or online. You will receive regular session reports so we can refine the plan as progress builds.

Yes. Our tutoring follows the UK National Curriculum and current exam requirements used by schools across Writtle and the wider Chelmsford area. We focus on the topics your child is covering in class, build missing foundations, and teach proven revision and exam techniques. This alignment helps students feel more confident in lessons and better prepared for assessments and mocks.

We provide targeted one-to-one support for GCSE and A-Level subjects, including Maths, English and Sciences, as well as help with revision planning, past papers and exam technique. We also offer tailored 11+ preparation for families in selective grammar school areas. If you are not sure whether the 11+ applies to your child, ask our local team and we will advise. Many families in and around Writtle use us from Year 10 to build strong foundations for Year 11, and again in sixth form to boost confidence and marks before university applications.

You can choose in-home sessions anywhere in Writtle or flexible online tutoring. We schedule around school, clubs and family life. Start times vary and depend on your child’s needs and tutor availability. After your free consultation and match approval, we aim to begin as soon as possible. Given that only 14 private tutors are listed locally in Writtle, early booking helps secure consistent support at the times you prefer.

After every session you receive a clear report covering what was learned, strengths, gaps and any follow-up tasks. We review progress with you regularly and adjust the plan to keep lessons effective. Families tell us this transparency makes a big difference. One Writtle-area parent said our personal and considerate approach helped their child achieve their goals and increased their confidence.

Yes. Every child learns differently and our tutors adapt to individual needs. We work with students who have dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety and other learning differences, as well as those who have lost confidence after a tricky transition or illness. The first goal is to rebuild confidence and enjoyment of learning, then we focus on curriculum progress and exam readiness. Specific strategies depend on your child and will be agreed with you during the consultation.
