Qualified Teacher | Recruitment Manager

As a qualified teacher, I previously spent 17 years working in schools across Hampshire as a Primary School Teacher. In September 2023, I joined Tutor Doctor Winchester as a SEND tutor and since then have supported a number of pupils to re-integrate back into school.

Towards the end of 2024, I joined the office team as the Tutor and Recruitment Manager. In this role, I facilitate the recruitment and onboarding of our tutors as well as connecting talented tutors with students. I also provide ongoing support to our team of tutors, helping them navigate challenges and deliver the highest quality education.

I live in Farnborough, Hampshire with my husband Matt, our young children and two very new (and noisy) guinea-pigs. Life is busy!

Qualified Teacher | DSL

Originally, I trained as an EYFS specialist (16 years ago), and I think it is this approach to learning applied to the Secondary curriculums that can help clarify concepts and techniques to our students regardless of age or stage. In addition to my DSL role, I tutor across the full range of ages and abilities from aged 4-17. I love the variety of teaching both English Language and Maths and the Primary and Secondary curriculums overlap a surprising amount!

As the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Tutor Doctor Solent, it is my responsibility to make sure that not only are all our students are living and learning in a safe environment, but that all our tutors are also protected from any potential harm, abuse, and neglect too.

When I am not working, I am a puppy loving, dairy free zone, wife, step mum, bookworm, colour-aholic, knitter, paint splasher, violin-playing, fabric hoarder!

Qualified Teacher | Client Manager

Having worked as a Primary school teacher and then Maths co-ordinator across the State and Independent sector for over a decade, I understand the importance in children and young people having the confidence to give things a go, especially in subjects they find more challenging. This is where tutoring can make a huge difference. Having also worked as a tutor myself, the relationship you build with the students is a crucial aspect of the process in order to develop their confidence as well as their subject knowledge and then, ultimately, make further progress. Hence why we put so much emphasis on finding the right tutor for the right family.

In my role as Client Manager, I enjoy getting to know the families and students, to then place a tutor with them knowing all of our tutors are well qualified, enthusiastic and motivated to help people of all ages and abilities to learn.

When not at work I am Mummy to a 2 year old boy who loves nothing more than being outside and getting stuck in some mud!
