Personalised, one-to-one tutoring in Hazlemere

It starts with a free consultation. We speak with you to understand your child’s goals, subjects, school context, and timetable. We then match your child with one of our local tutors who fits their personality, learning style, and subject needs.

Lessons are one-to-one in your Hazlemere home or online. In the first session we set clear goals and a simple plan. After every session you receive a written report so you can see what was covered, strengths, gaps, and next steps. Our Tutor Doctor Buckinghamshire team checks in regularly and can adjust the plan or tutor match if needed.

Yes. Our local tutors align tutoring to your child’s year group and the UK curriculum. We support:
– Primary foundations, including reading, writing and Maths, and Year 6 SATs preparation
– Key Stage 3 consolidation and confidence building
– GCSE revision and exam technique
– A-Level subject support and exam practice
– 11+ preparation in Buckinghamshire where selective entry applies, including verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, Maths and English

Across England, around four in ten pupils do not meet the expected standard in reading, writing and Maths at Key Stage 2. Early, targeted support can make a real difference before secondary school. We use school topics, teacher feedback and past paper style questions so learning connects directly to what your child needs.

We can help your child make meaningful progress towards their GCSEs. We start with a quick review of their current performance and teacher feedback, then build a focused plan that targets the highest impact topics, exam technique and timed practice. Your child gets one-to-one teaching at home or online, a weekly revision plan, and regular feedback.

While we never promise specific marks, we often see students make significant improvements with consistent effort and the right support. A local parent told us, “both of my children are achieving 90-98% in maths with Tutor Doctor.” Book a free consultation and we will outline what is realistic for your child and how quickly we can begin in Hazlemere.

Matching is central to our approach. In your free consultation we learn about your child’s goals, learning style, interests, and what has or has not worked before. We then recommend one of our local tutors who fits on subject expertise and personality.

After the first session we check in with you and your child. If you feel the fit could be better, we will rematch quickly. The aim is a steady, positive relationship that builds confidence and results.

You receive a written session report after every lesson that explains what was covered, progress made, and next steps. We set short term goals, such as mastering a topic or improving a mark on a past paper question, and we review these with you regularly.

We also track signs of growing confidence, homework independence and teacher feedback from school. If something is not moving as expected, we adjust the plan quickly so every session counts.

All tutors go through a multi stage recruitment process that includes interviews and reference checks. They complete safeguarding training and follow our safeguarding policies. We provide ongoing oversight, review session reports and stay in contact with your family. Tutor Doctor is a proud member of The Tutors’ Association.

If you have specific safeguarding questions, we are happy to discuss them in your free consultation.
