Personalised, one-to-one tutoring in Wymondham

We start with a free consultation to understand your child’s goals, current marks, learning style and personality. We then recommend one of our local tutors who fits both the subject need and your child’s way of learning. You get a tailored plan with clear targets and a schedule that suits your family, delivered in your home in Wymondham or online. Your dedicated Tutor Doctor Norwich contact checks in regularly to make sure the match and the plan are working.

We support primary, KS3, GCSE and A-Level. Common requests include Maths, English Language and Literature, Combined and Triple Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, History, Geography, French, Spanish, Business and Psychology. We also help with study skills, revision planning and exam technique. If you are looking for a subject not listed here, ask in your consultation and we will advise.

Yes. Our local tutors work with students from Wymondham High School, Wymondham College, Hethersett Academy and neighbouring schools. We align tutoring to the GCSE and A-Level specifications used locally, including AQA, OCR and Pearson Edexcel. Sessions focus on the exact skills examiners reward, using past papers, mark schemes, timing practice and targeted topic repair. This approach helps students strengthen weak areas and build confidence for their examinations.

Every plan is personalised. Our local tutors use approaches that suit each learner, for example clear scaffolding, multi-sensory methods, chunked tasks, retrieval practice and assistive tools where helpful. We support pupils with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, anxiety and processing or working-memory needs. With over 450 pupils at Wymondham High alone receiving SEND support or intervention monitoring, we understand that flexibility matters. With your permission, we can also align with strategies from your child’s school or SENCO.

We agree starting points and goals at the consultation. After every lesson your tutor sends a session report so you can see what was covered, what went well and any homework or next steps. We use short quizzes, past-paper questions and regular reviews to measure progress. You will also have check-ins with your Tutor Doctor Norwich contact to adjust the plan as exams approach.

All tutors go through a multi-stage selection process that includes interviews, reference checks and verification of subject expertise. They are fully vetted and complete safeguarding training. Tutor Doctor is a proud member of The Tutors’ Association. Your local Tutor Doctor Norwich team remains your point of contact throughout, and if a match is not quite right we will offer an alternative.

Start times depend on subject, timetable and tutor availability. Here is how to begin: 1) Book a free consultation so we can review your child’s current performance and targets. 2) We propose a tailored plan and introduce a suitable local tutor. 3) You confirm in-home or online sessions and the timetable. 4) Your first session takes place and you receive a session report the same day. We prioritise focused revision plans to help students make the most of their preparation time before exams.
