Tutor Doctor Bedford delivered a number of summer schools for a Bedford secondary school:

Summer School – Transition

With a focus on easing the transition from primary to secondary, the summer school helped participants become familiar with their new school surroundings and start breaking the ice with new friends from other feeder schools.

The summer school combined enjoyable academic sessions with enrichment activities that encouraged working together and helped develop creativity, curiosity and confidence. There was a focus on team working, sport, drama, art and wellbeing activities, all delivered within a positive, friendly and cooperative environment.

Summer School Years 7, 8 and 9

The summer school helped students connect with peers in an educational and fun setting, with opportunities to take part in a range of activities and academic challenges. With time devoted to inspiring and fun learning there was also an enrichment programme filled with sports, drama and project work.

There were hands-on academic sessions, sports with a focus on fun and drama. Students also completed a project to benefit the school community and took part in a Dragon’s Den style challenge to enhance communication, problem solving and planning skills.
