Meet Tutor Doctor Central Southampton Salisbury

Implementing Data-Driven & Successful Learning Techniques

At Tutor Doctor Central Southampton Salisbury, we believe learning should always be engaging and fun. The private tutoring professionals we work with understand how to deliver effective long-term results. They have years of expertise, making them fully equipped and committed to creating a distraction-free and stress-free environment.

The in-home tutoring pros we partner with want to support your student and help unlock their potential and hidden love of learning. We understand the importance of working with a tutor who offers instruction to get students excited about learning and using that knowledge in practical ways. A tutor who matches a student’s personality enhances the in-home or online tutoring sessions.

I was delighted to be interviewed by What Franchise magazine recently. It gave me the opportunity to talk externally about how satisfying it can be to support students throughout their academic career – whether they are just starting out in Key Stage 1 or completing a Masters degree.

English Lessons for Ukrainian Child Refugees

An exciting recent development that we wanted to share. In early June we hosted the first of our weekly English lessons for Ukrainian child refugees.

Many of the 5-11 year-old Ukrainian children who have come to Southampton have yet to take up their places in school. The main barrier to them doing this is that they don’t speak English.

So every Saturday morning we are holding 90 minutes of free lessons for these children. These will continue every week until at least September. Our goal is to give them the confidence to start in school at the beginning of the new academic year.

Our tuition is usually delivered 1-2-1, but having class sizes of up to 20 children means we can support more families.

A big ‘thank you’ to Woolston Library who have kindly offered us their room for free each week. We couldn’t do this without them.

An extra special ‘thank you’ to our wonderful tutors, Liuda and Robert. They put the children at ease immediately today and have developed some exciting lesson plans for the coming weeks. Liuda herself is a refugee from Ukraine, where she is a teacher of English to primary-aged children. We are very lucky to have her.

If you are one of the kind families hosting Ukrainian refugees or know of 5-11 year-old Ukrainian children who need English lessons please email us for details.

Visit to Local Charity

Adie has been on the Board of Governors of the Southampton Ronald McDonald House for almost 5 years. This is an amazing charity that provides free accommodation on the grounds of Southampton General Hospital for families who are unfortunate enough to have a child staying in hospital as an in-patient. Christmas is never a nice time to be away from home, especially if it’s because of a young one being ill.

At the end of November, alongside Suzie from Tutor Doctor Winchester Fareham (and a few little helpers), we went in to the house to put up the Christmas decorations. We had a terrific time! We love what we do and enjoy giving back to the local community.

Back to School Competition 2021! school supplies for back to school competition

Over the last few weeks we have been running our Back to School competition.

We asked our friends and followers on Social Media to vote for the school they thought was most deserving of some classroom goodies. The response we got was phenomenal, with hundreds of votes cast over a 3 week period. We had so many that the abacus got dusted off to count them all. We’re delighted to say that Gomeldon Primary School were the worthy winners and have already received their box of supplies (pictured). Thank you to everybody who took part!

People’s Pride Family Fun Day- August 30thundefined

We are delighted to share that we will be attending this amazing event at Five Acres, Lordshill in Southampton on Bank Holiday Monday – August 30th. We’ll be available to talk to any parents or students looking to arrange tutoring ahead of the new academic year. We cater for GCSE, A Level and degree students, and also for adult learners looking to access education for the first time in years. Our tutors are experts in their field and have a track record of producing outstanding results.

It hasn’t escaped our attention that this is a ‘Fun’ day (!), so we’ll also be giving out free fruit and balloons to children throughout the day. We hope to see you there!

WestQuay Shopping Centre-August 23-29undefined

We will be at Westquay Shopping Centre in Southampton, meeting parents and students as they do their back-to-school shopping. Located on the Upper Terrace outside Waterstones and close to the Enchanted Labyrinth exhibition, we’ll be available to take bookings for free consultations to assess your student’s needs and build a bespoke tutoring programme.

As usual, we’ll be bringing along lots of fresh fruit that we’ll be giving out to children throughout the day.

June 23rd is National Thank a Teacher Day!

thank you teachersThroughout June we’ve been asking parents and grandparents to nominate the school they think is most deserving of recognition in a form that everybody appreciates – CAKE!

We’ve collected a huge number of votes from all over Wiltshire and Hampshire. Quite frankly, we almost needed to dust off the abacus to count them all (not a great look for a tutoring business)!

This morning Botley C of E Primary school earned their hard-earned reward for a year of tremendous effort and care for their students. I had the pleasure of presenting Joe Cooil and his team with a cake made by the fabulous Reeya at Creeyate Cakes.

To all the wonderful teachers (and tutors!) working so hard to guide, shape, teach and mentor our future generations - a huge 'THANK YOU' for the amazing work you've done over the last year.

You are making a difference every day!
